Sydney Harbour BridgeClimb: prices during the day cost £41 per person Monday to Friday or £50 at weekends. Nightclimbs are now also available from £50.


Scenic seaplane flight: Sydney Harbour Seaplanes offer a variety of packages including a scenic flight over the harbour and lunch at Cottage Point Inn for £79 per person including flight and three-course a la carte lunch.


Learn to surf: at Byron Bay prices are from £25 for three classes or £12 for one half-day lesson. After three lessons you should be feeling confident and ready to go it alone.


Surf rafting: £12 per person for a half-day adventure with Liquid Assets Adventure Tours, Coff’s Harbour. Not for the faint hearted.


Whale watching: humpbacks can be seen at Coff’s Harbour from June-November. Cruises with Spirit of Coff’s Harbour’s 18.3 metre power catamaran cost from £14 per adult.


Scuba diving: dive at Byron Bay’s Julian Rocks to see turtles, sharks and octupus. Sundive’s prices start from £41 for a resort dive and gear. Cost for certified divers is from £29 for the first dive and £14 for the second.
