THEWALES Tourist Board has issued a new incentive planner in an effort to generate more business in the sector.
The publication, Wales the Incentive Destination, includes details of 30 incentive venues plus a list of hotels suitable for incentive visits.
One new draw is the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, which can cater for up to 1,000 delegates at a time, in addition to offering hospitality boxes. Theme weekends based around the cult TV series The Prisoner are available in the village of Portmeiron, where the programme was filmed.
A WTB spokeswoman said: “This year our planner includes a number of imaginative new incentive possibilities, some of which can be offered to corporate and incentive group visits to Wales for the Rugby World Cup 1999. We hope it will boost business. Wales isn’t thought of as an incentive destination but we have quality hotels and our golf facilities are increasing.”
