BRITISHAirways and Qantas are expanding their codeshare agreement to cover flights from Heathrow toScandinavia.
From Thursday, Qantas will take seats on BA flights to Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
These services connect with Qantas services from Australia to Heathrow.
BA/Qantas already codeshare on Heathrow flights to Australia through Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur and on European services.
The inclusion of Scandinavian flights in the agreement will increase competition in the already highly competitive region. Lufthansa and SAS already codeshare there and KLM and Braathens are gradually increasingco-operation.
Qantas deputy chief executive Geoff Dixon saidthe new deal reflected a strengthening of the airlines’ partnership.
