I am writing with my view on your story about Longwood Holidays’ decision to stop educationals because the operator believes it is a waste of money? (Travel Weekly March 13).
I have been in the travel industry for eight years and one of my first educationals was with Longwood Holidays to Eilat.
I didn’t know anything about Israel before taking part. I thought it was great experiencing Eilat first hand and feel that if I had not taken part in the trip I would still be wondering what it was like eight years down the line.
We have a high percentage of clients who travel to Israel and having experienced it first hand I feel my job is made easier.
Furthermore, since the educational, I find myself using Longwood Holidays as my first choice.
