Flybe has appointed Phil Delaney as its new director of sales and distribution.
Delaney will manage the airline’s corporate sales team and will have responsibility for business customers and trade partners. He will focus on driving ticket sales and growth.
Delaney joins from Trainline.com where he most recently took up the position of business development director for retail solutions.
Paul Simmons, Flybe’s chief commercial officer says: “With nearly half of Flybe’s passengers travelling for business and with a large travel trade component, our corporate sales division plays an absolutely crucial role.
“It is critical that we offer our clients the requisite support and products they need and that we not only continue to expand but also to nurture those existing relationships. I am delighted to have Phil on board and look forward to him leading his team to continuing success.”
Delaney said: “Flybe is emerging from a period of transformation and I look forward to bringing my previous experience to bear at such an exciting time, and in the commercial aviation field that is such a dynamic and ever-changing environment.”
Delaney is replacing Stephen Hobday, who left Flybe last month after 14 years with the company.
Simmons added: “Stephen hands over his department in robust shape and I would like to thank him for his contribution to the company and wish him all the very best for the future.”
