French all business class transatlantic carrier La Compagnie has extended a promotional fares offer after the first 500 sold out.
The airline is offering a further 250 seats at the introductory rate of £649 return or £1,007 for two people travelling together for bookings made by the end of the month. Travel must be made before the end of August.
The fares compare to a standard rate starting at £1,538 per person, which La Compagnie claims is at least half the cost of business class on other airlines flying to New York.
Flights between Luton and New York Newark start on April 24 using a redesigned Boeing 757 with 74 lie-flat seats offering passengers the use of Samsung Galaxy Pro 12in tablet devices which can be uploaded with e-books, magazines, music and films.
Three flights a week will operate initially, rising to six a week in June.
La Compagnie started flying between Paris Charles de Gaulle and New York in July last year with a service aimed at cost-conscious travellers.
