Parkdean to spend £13.2m across its UK sites

Holiday park operator Parkdean is to spend a record £13.2 million across its 24 parks across the UK this year.

The disclosure follows a 25% rise in bookings last week.

The investment covers the company’s sites in Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Devon, Norfolk, Dorset and Hampshire.

The spend includes £6.8 million in accommodation, including new holiday homes and lodges, and £1.7 million on refurbishing existing accommodation.

A further £800,000 will go towards a range of new lodges at its Ruda resort in Devon.

Seven new ranges of caravans will be unveiled this year, insulated with central heating and double glazing to provide comfort during the off-peak season.

New holiday home developments at Grannies in Scotland and Newquay will also be unveiled.

Parkdean is also introducing a Wi-Fi upgrade across all 24 parks.

Chief executive John Waterworth said: “We had a very successful 2014 and this significant re-investment shows our confidence in our customer growth in 2015 and beyond.

“We are committed to providing the best holiday park accommodation in the UK market.

“Refurbishments and new caravan designs mean we can keep holidaymakers comfortable in a home-from-home environment plus we have noted a growing market for luxury lodge holidays and sales across the UK – the British staycation is a trend here to stay, whatever your budget.”

New stage shows will be introduced together with new activities in the free clubs for children.
