WATC pushes new service with trip offer

WESTERN Australia Tourist Commission is offering agents the opportunity to win a trip for two to Bali and Western Australia.

The promotion marks the March 29 launch of a new Ansett Australia service between Bali and Broome.

The first 100 agents to include a Bali-Broome Ansett Australia sector when they book a Great Escapade round-the-world ticket between April 1 and June 30 will receive a Broome pearl worth £80 and will also get the chance to win the trip.

The promotion, in conjunction with Ansett Australia and Singapore Airlines, aims to raise awareness of Broome International Airport as the closest Australian gateway to the UK and Europe.

Ansett Australia UK sales manager Jim Corcoran said:”Broome International Airport is similar to the regional airport development of Cairns a decade ago and this new link will mean huge opportunities for agents and tour operators to help people travel directly to the sought-after Kimberley region.”

The WATC predicts the two-centre holiday will be particularly attractive to independent travellers or honeymoon couples. “The new service is an excellent addition to the Ansett Australia route network. It provides them with a multitude of new options when planning itineraries within the country,” added Corcoran.
