Pettitts Travel acquired by CTT Group

Pettitts Travel, which specialises in bespoke holidays to India, South East Asia, China, Japan and South America, has been bought by independent leisure and business travel firm CTT Group.

CTT Group pledged to retain all staff members at the agency.

Chief executive Mark Kempster said: “The adding of Pettitts Travel’s established product offering is a tremendous addition for the group, and considerably strengthens our consumer leisure offering.

“It is an extremely positive start to 2015 and we are incredibly excited at the prospects this will bring to the business, and I’m really looking forward to the road ahead”.

In addition to the recent purchase, CTT Group has also strengthened its management team.

Jo Haigh, chief executive of FDS Director Services, is to join the board as non-executive director.

She was named non-exec of the year in the 2012 national non-executive director awards and last year received the First Woman in Business Services award at the Real Business/CBI First Women Awards.

FDS provides businesses with support and strategic planning.

The main purpose of Haigh’s new role is to help mentor, guide and challenge the existing board of CTT Group, which was established in 1988 under the name Country Trails Travel.

The company’s brands include Packyourbags Travel, Packyourbags.com, Medway Leisure Travel, Medway Travel Management, CT Corporate Travel, CT Luxury Travel, Romania Travel Centre and now Pettitts Travel.

Kempster said: “Jo comes with many years of experience in this role, and I’m really looking forward to working with her and taking advantage of the experience she will bring to help us continue to grow and expand the business.”
