Anthem of the Seas leaves German shipyard

The $940 million Anthem of the Seas has left its German shipyard ahead of its arrival in the UK next month.

The latest Royal Caribbean International ship will sail from Southampton from April, offering a range of cruises throughout the summer.

The 4,180 sister ship to Quantum of the Seas will have a travel agent as its godmother through a competition running in conjunction with Travel Weekly.

Anthem of the Seas emerged from the building shed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany on Saturday.

The 167,800-ton vessel features a skydiving simulator, bumper cars and a viewing pod which extends 300ft above the sea, together with the line’s largest cabins and inside accommodation with virtual balconies.
