No injuries have been reported following a 6.2 magnitude earthquake which struck Colombia yesterday.
The epicentre was close to Bucaramanga and the earthquake was felt in the capital city of Bogota, almost 170 miles away.
The US Geological Survey said the epicentre was pinpointed to around 91 miles below the surface.
There was little initial structural damage as the tremor was so deep as it hit at 3.55pm local time.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in an updated travel advisory: “If you are a British National who has been affected by the incident and require consular assistance please call the embassy on 571-3268300.
“We are in contact with the local authorities and there are no reports of any injured persons.”
