Holland America Line drops Tunis calls

Holland America Line has become the latest cruise company to drop calls into Tunisia following last week’s massacre of tourists.

Calls into La Goulette, the port for Tunis, have been cancelled until the end of May.

“Scheduled calls to La Goulette beyond the end of May will be evaluated as the sailing dates get closer,” the company said.

“At Holland America Line the safety of our guests and crew is our top priority.”

Three sailings in April and May are affected by the change.

The ship Eurodam will now call in Cagliari, Sardinia, on April 21 instead of La Goulette. Zuiderdam will have a day at sea on May 9 rather than calling into the north African country.

The same ship will now call into Olbia on May 24, a previously scheduled sea day. May 25 will now be a sea day rather than a stop at La Goulette.

Costa Cruises and MSC Cruises immediately cancelled calls into the port after passengers on shore excursions were among those killed and wounded in the terrorist attack on the Bardo Museum.
