Qatar Airways will deploy a second A380 on services between Heathrow and Doha from July 1 owing to demand.
Doha-based Qatar operates six return flights a day on the route, with just one using a 517-seat A380 at present.
The ‘superjumbo’ will replace an A330 on the 21.30 departure from Heathrow and 12.35 return flight from Doha.
The two-deck A380 features a three-class cabin with eight seats in First, 48 in Business and 461 in economy.
Qatar Airways country manager for the UK and Ireland Richard Oliver said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer a second A380 service from Heathrow to Doha in response to an increase in demand.
“Offering two convenient departure times from London Heathrow on the A380 will increase both choice and convenience.”
Qatar will launch daily services from Edinburgh to Doha next month. The carrier also offers a double daily service from Manchester.
