Former lastminute chief takes non-exec role at National Express

The deputy chief executive and chief integration officer of lastminute.com’s new owner Bravofly Rumbo Group has been named as a non-executive director at coach and rail firm National Express.

Former lastminute.com chief executive Matthew Crummack was previously senior vice president of lodging at Expedia.

National Express chairman Sir John Armitt said: “Matthew has worked for some of the world’s leading consumer firms and brings significant knowledge of the digital landscape from lastminute.com.

“His experience is directly relevant to National Express as we place customers at the heart of our strategy and constantly focus on delivering continuously improving services.”

Crummack said: “I am excited to become a part of the National Express story, which has a great brand heritage and a promising global growth trajectory.”

He replaces Sir Andrew Foster who is due to step down from the National Express board on May 6 after more than 10 years.

Lastminute.com was acquired by Bravofly Rumbo in March.
