Thomas Cook Airlines adds Cancun and Barbados from Glasgow

Cancun and Barbados are to be served by Thomas Cook Airlines from Glasgow airport in winter 2015-16.

The airline is also extending weekly flights to Las Vegas until January 4, 2016 and will double frequency next summer while also increasing the number of summer flights to Orlando.

The Cancun and Barbados services will feature the new economy and premium cabins on refurbished Airbus A330 aircraft.

The long haul expansion follows the start of flights to Holguin and Varadero in Cuba from Glasgow from the winter.

Thomas Cook Group chief hotels and airlines officer, Christoph Debus, said: “Following the great success of our new Las Vegas flight, we are really pleased to announce new routes this winter to Cancun and Barbados with an even better service with more flights to Las Vegas and Orlando next summer.”

Glasgow airport commercial director, Francois Bourienne, added: “The introduction of Thomas Cook Airlines direct flights to Cancun and Barbados this winter not only demonstrates its commitment to Glasgow airport, it highlights the demand for these popular sunshine destinations.

“We are looking forward to working with Thomas Cook Airlines to develop these services and to further grow the airline’s presence at Glasgow.”
