The Novotel Edinburgh Park Hotel in Scotland has been acquired by Qatar Airways for an undisclosed sum.
It follows the Gulf carrier taking over the Sheraton Skyline Hotel at Heathrow earlier in the year.
The purchase of the Novotel Edinburgh Park is part of growth plans, which are expected to include further hotels in key destinations.
The airline also owns the five-star Oryx Rotana Hotel in Doha and runs the new airside Hamad International Airport Hotel.
The four-star Scottish property close to Edinburgh airport has 170 rooms and will continue to be managed and operated under Accor’s Novotel brand.
Qatar Airways group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker (pictured), said: “The Novotel Edinburgh Park is an excellent addition to our travel portfolio, complementing our five-star hotel the Oryx Rotana in Doha and Sheraton Skyline Hotel Heathrow, making it easy for passengers who wish to spend some time in Edinburgh before travelling further afield in Scotland.”
