BRITISHAirways has teamed up with Lunn Poly to launch its first training programme aimed at boosting trade sales of leisure airline tickets.
The agent’s 800 assistant managers responsible for the leisure air product will attend workshops and complete distance-learning packages. They will have regular consultations and monitoring.
The programme, called On Course, is designed by BA to increase the selling skills and product knowledge of agents.
BA trade training manager June Parsons said the scheme was initiated as many retailers thought of BA as just a business airline.
She said: “Most of our passengers are travelling for leisure purposes.
“On Course is the first major training initiative British Airways has invested in to support customer needs. It is a totally new approach.”
