Heathrow’s new chief financial officer, Michael Uzielli, takes up his role from today.
Previously finance director at British Gas, he will be focused on continuing to strengthen the London hub’s reputation in international markets as a “pre-eminent global infrastructure asset” and building confidence in the financing of Heathrow’s expansion plans.
Heathrow has raised more than £11 billion over the past decade to transform the airport.
A statement said: “Heathrow’s ambition remains to be one of the best airports in the world and Michael’s expertise will ensure Heathrow is able to exceed financial targets and secure the investment necessary to continue to transform passenger experience at the UK’s only hub airport,”
Heathrow chief executive, John Holland-Kaye, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Michael to the Heathrow team. I’m confident his breadth of experience will help us take Heathrow from being one of the best airports in Europe to one of the best in the world.”
