High winds disrupt ferry services

Cross-channel ferry services were disrupted today due to strong winds and high seas.

The poor weather conditions forced fast ferry Condor Liberation’s sailings between the UK and the Channel Islands to be cancelled.

Winds were expected to exceed speeds of 60mph and the Met Office issued a strong wind warning in the English Channel.

Condor Ferries apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused.

P&O Ferries said Dover to Calais services were disrupted due to adverse weather conditions in the channel. Passengers were advised to check-in as normal for their booked sailing time.

DFDS Seaways services on routes from Dover to Calais and Dunkirk were operating with delays of an hour.

All MyFerryLink cross-channel sailings were also delayed.

Heathrow advised passengers to check the status of flights due to the high winds.
