Thieves smash Kuoni store window in bungled theft

Thieves smashed the front window of the Kuoni store in Bristol in what is thought to be a bungled attempt to break into a neighbouring shop.

Police are investigating after the front window of the Kuoni store and upmarket menswear shop Garment Quarter, which sells designer clothes next door, were both completely smashed in during the early hours of this morning.

It is understood the ramraiders reversed into the Kuoni shop by mistake before reversing into the next door shop, understood to be the intended target, leaving glass strewn across the road.

Nothing was taken from the Kuoni store, which is due to reopen either later today or tomorrow. The front window is due to be replaced next week.

Kuoni managing director Derek Jones said: “It’s a case of thieves who should have gone to Specsavers as they reversed into the wrong shop.

“Thankfully nobody was hurt and nothing was taken from the store so we’ll be back up and running and open for business as soon as soon the police have finished their investigations, which should be later on today.”
