CMV ship to host Clia annual dinner

Magellan, the latest ship to join the Cruise & Maritime Voyages, is to host the 2015 Clia UK & Ireland annual dinner in December.

The event is to be held on board the former Carnival ship in London Tilbury on December 10.

The Clia Cruise Forum will also be held on board with key travel agents. The annual Cruise Excellence Awards will take place during the evening.

An afternoon cruise networking forum for Clia executive partners, ports and cruise line executives will be held for the first time.

Tickets will go on sale on July 1 priced at £199 per person to include dinner, drinks, overnight accommodation and breakfast. A total of 750 places have been allocated.

CMV commercial director, Chris Coates, said: “We are delighted that our new flagship has been chosen to host this year’s annual Clia dinner at her home port of London Tilbury.

“This event is traditionally one of the highlights of the UK cruise industry’s calendar and we will be pulling out all the stops to make sure Magellan plays host to a memorable and successful event with an added festive theme.”

Clia director, Andy Harmer, added: “It is fitting that for the second successive year our annual dinner will be taking place on board a cruise ship and I’m delighted that Magellan will be the venue.

“I have no doubt the daytime activities and gala dinner will be a great success and attract guests from all sectors of the cruise industry.”
