Andy Freeth makes industry return at Travcorp Holdings

Experienced travel industry executive Andy Freeth has made a comeback to the trade almost a year after leaving Classic Collection Holidays.

He has been named as group managing director of Travcorp Holdings, the parent company of Destination2, Destination2Cruise and HolidayGems.

Freeth, who left On the Beach-owned trade operator Classic Collection last March, has also held leadership roles at JG Travel Group, If Only, Gold Medal and Travel 2.

He will take full control of the Travcorp Holdings businesses “over a period of months”, reporting to executive chairman Andrew Botterill.

Botterill said: “We welcome the arrival of Andy Freeth to our fantastic group of growing, successful and extremely profitable businesses.

“Andy is no stranger to the majority of our senior management team and board members, who have worked with him in one form or another over the past two decades.

“We know Andy will add to and enhance our existing strategy and bring a new dimension to the group’s ongoing success, culture, and business ethic. We believe he is absolutely the right choice for our business at this pivotal moment in our journey.

Botterill added: “Our business continues to thrive, and in addition to being one of the best rated travel companies in the UK on many independent review forums, earlier this month we received the coveted Which? Recommended accolade.

“In 2024, the business achieved a record turnover of almost £140 million, posting an exponential rise of 100% in our PBT [profit before tax] performance.

“This was primarily a result of our focus on margin, and execution of the group’s customer acquisition strategy. Our business carries absolutely no debt and has zero borrowings.

“All of this combined, in addition to a stealth approach to business and a robust business model, really sets us apart from many of our competitors in the industry.

“We know Andy will add, implement and yield yet more amazing and exciting initiatives to our portfolio of success, and we’re absolutely delighted to have him on board.”
