‘Industry first’ Destination Unknown competition kicks off

Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Virgin Atlantic have today launched their tri-branded trade competition which gives agents the chance to “scoop the prize of a lifetime for themselves and their agency”.

Destination Unknown, unveiled at the The Globe Travel Awards in January, sees the three brands join forces for an agent incentive programme described as “unlike anything the industry will have seen before”.

From today (March 17), agents making qualifying bookings on either a Celebrity Cruises or Royal Caribbean sailing, coupled with Virgin Atlantic or Delta Air Lines flights, will be able to earn points and climb the leaderboard to win one of twelve places on the winners’ trip – the destination of which remains a mystery.

More details about the incentive, including flights, accommodation, perks and experiences, will be revealed as the competition unfolds.

Additionally, the headquarters of the winning agent of the “ultimate scavenger hunt” will receive £100,000 in marketing and commercial support for their agency to support Florida and Caribbean packages.

They will also earn a holiday which includes sailing on both a Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises ship, coupled with Virgin Atlantic Upper Class flights, for them and a plus one.

Every point earned as part of the Destination Unknown competition will count towards climbing the leaderboard and agents have until April 28 to make qualifying bookings.

Agents will also have the chance to grab extra points by completing weekly challenges.

Further information will be shared on the brands’ trade marketing channels throughout the competition, which runs until April 28.
