All Ways Pacific adds range of boutique lodges

All Ways Pacific is introducing new boutique lodges to meet the growing demand for luxury bed-and-breakfast accommodation.

The operator is planning to feature Blanket Bay Lodge based on the northern end of Lake Wakatipu in its first brochure of the new millennium.

Director Kaye Rankin said: “Lodges are becoming more available and we were getting more and more requests for this type of property.”

Opening on July 1, the Blanket Bay Lodge is set in 59 acres of woodland and offers several types of accommodation, including lakeside rooms featuring a terrace and kingsize beds, three 700 sq ft suites and two chalets comprising two junior suites.

Nightly rates range from £360 to £660 for the chalet and include breakfast, a la carte dinner and house drinks. The addition of Blanket Bay next year follows the introduction of eight new lodge properties to the operator’s 1999/2000 brochure. These include the Old St Mary’s Convent in Blenheim featuring three guest rooms, Craglee Lodge located in the Bay of Many Coves, and the Old Convent in Kiajoura with 16 guest rooms.

The Bangor Country Inn near Darfield on South Island is due to open on July 1. Set in 33 acres, the inn features six double rooms with en-suite bathrooms.
