BRITISH Airways Holidays is targeting the family market with a series of special offers in its new Florida 2000/01 brochure.
The operator has introduced more self-catering units for families in Orlando and the Gulf Coast, with children under two travelling free.
A new World Traveller service on British Airways has been designed with the family in mind, with the introduction of seat-back TVs and a Skyflyers’ entertainment package for children.
US product manager Debbie Goffin said the programme has been deliberately targeted towards the family.
“The demand for self-catering has increased 10% over last year with a trend towards families travelling together as groups,” she said.
“The new self-catering properties range from budget homes to luxury accommodation with private pools and will appeal to a cross-section of families.”
Prices have increased an average of 1% on last year although Goffin stressed that many prices have actually gone down.
They lead in at £369 per adult and £199 for a child for a seven-night flydrive to Florida.
Goffin revealed that bookings this year should end up 10% ahead and revealed that growth of 15% is planned for 2000/01.
