P&O STENA Line has recorded a 12% rise in the number of passengers using its Dover-Calais service during the spring bank holiday.
A total of 226,000 people travelled on the route from May 28-31. P&OSL operated 35 return trips from Dover a day over this period.
P&OSL passenger marketing and sales director John Govett said:”We carried more passengers, vehicles, coaches and freight vehicles than ever before on a spring bank holiday weekend.”
During the Easter bank holiday, between April 2-5, more than 200,000 people travelled on the route. This was up 9% compared with Easter 1998.
