Celebrity Cruises pulls overnight calls to Istanbul

Celebrity Cruises has cancelled its 2015 overnight calls to Istanbul due to security fears in Turkey.

The decision follows the US government’s decision to issue a travel warning for Turkey and affects eight sailings on three ships – Celebrity Reflection (pictured), Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Constellation.

Customers and agents are being contacted regarding changes to their itineraries.

In a statement Celebrity Cruises said: “Due to the security concerns taking place in Turkey, Celebrity Cruises has cancelled overnight stays in Istanbul.

“We appreciate our guests’ understanding and cooperation, and are looking forward to welcoming them aboard.

“We will continue to closely monitor the situation in Turkey and have been contacting guests and their travel agents with modifications to their upcoming itineraries.

“The safety and security of our guests and crew members is always foremost in our minds.”
