HKTA director makes move to Caymans

THE CAYMAN Islands Department of Tourism has poached Hong Kong Tourist Authority director Don McDougall to head up its UK and European operations.

McDougall, who joined the HKTA as a marketing executive 11 years ago, is understood to want a career change.

At present, he promotes Hong Kong in Northern Europe only, but at the CIDT he will oversee operations across the whole of Europe when he begins his new role on June 21.

McDougall, who will be based at the CIDT’s office in London, replaces Catherine Leech, who left in May to become managing director of Caribtours. A replacement is being sought by the HKTA.
