BA really does discredit us

BRITISHAirways, why are you intent on killing off the industry that has supported you so well up to now.

Why is it that I can get a fare on BA to travel to Hong Kong for a mutual client, at a level of £1,273.30 (including taxes) and if my client phoned you directly, he gets a fare of just £356.40. Not only that but he gets to put it on option for a couple of days, where as we must issue the ticket the same day.

Could you please tell me where I can buy this ticket? Imagine the money I could save my agency, and then add on a service charge of £916.90.

Excellent – a good way to make money, and substantially more than the £5 you are offering me.

Oh, and also, could you advise me of the address for your personnel department. I imagine that you’ll need a few thousand people to fill the positions of your already overloaded reservation centres.

Oh, and one last thing, when asked why BA can sell the £356.40 fare and your industry partners cannot, maybe it’s better for rapport to say nothing at all, rather than give the answer “it’s all in the name of competition”.
