Former Goldcrest Aviation and Caledonian Airways sales director Steve Tomlinson has set up a new broking company.
Tomlinson said the new business, called Excel Aviation, aims to fill a gap in the market to supply independent operators with seats following the consolidation in the industry.
Former Goldcrest commercial director Phil Wyatt is acting as a consultant on the new venture.
Excel hopes to finalise deals with airline suppliers and investors shortly and aims to be up and running and in new premises at Gatwick by the autumn.
Priceright Holidays is believed to be interested in investing in the new venture which will employ five staff.
