Former Belmond chief operating officer, Filip Boyen, has been named as chief executive of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Boyen was appointed as managing director of SLH’s management company, Hill, Goodridge & Associates, in July and now also assumes leadership for the management of the SLH brand, which marks its 25th anniversary this year.
SLH represents 520 independent hotels in more than 80 countries. Boyen will be based at the company’s headquarters in London.
Anchalika Kijkanakorn, chairman of the SLH board, said: “Filip’s depth of experience, not only of managing a large number of hotels over four continents but also of every aspect of the luxury hotel industry, means that he is well placed to guide SLH through the opportunities and challenges in this ever more competitive landscape.
“We look forward to the continued success and evolution of the SLH brand under his stewardship as we look to the next 25 years and beyond.”
Boyen added: “Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a well-known and respected brand thanks to the dedication of the talented team of top professionals working across its offices in London, New York, Singapore and Shanghai – people who live and love the brand.
“I am very much looking forward to leading this team as we look to establish an even stronger presence on the international luxury hospitality scene while, at the same time, creating more value for our members and their guests.”
