EQUIPMENT
PC: needs to run at least Windows 95 or Windows NT, although it would be possible to access an Internet-based booking system from any PC.
Modem: necessary for accessing either the Internet or a Wide Area Network, whichever the operator decides to use (Thomson has not yet said which it will use).
Internet account: to get onto the Internet, agencies need to sign up with an Internet Service Provider. This will be necessary unless the operator decides to provide this service for agents.
Software modifications: none, as all software sits on a central server rather than on the agency’s PC.
