London Heathrow Terminal 4 to gain two new hotels

Two new hotels are to be directly connected to London Heathrow Terminal 4.

The adjoining Crowne Plaza (pictured) and Holiday Inn Express are due to open in 2018.

The Crowne Plaza London – Heathrow T4 will have 300 rooms, while the 450-room Holiday Inn Express London – Heathrow T4 will be a ‘next generation’ property for the brand, featuring the latest technology, an Express Café and Bar and larger beds. The two hotels will be located within walking distance from the terminal via an air bridge.

They will operate under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and will be managed by Arora Hotels, a division of The Arora Group.

Terminal 4, which handles 10 million passengers a year, is used by Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways and the SkyTeam alliance carriers.

IHG chief development office, Europe, Robert Shepherd, said: “Dual branded hotel developments are attractive for hotel investors because of the significant cost savings and operating efficiencies; and they give guests a choice of two great hotels in the one location depending on their needs.”

Arora Group founder and chairman, Surinder Arora, said: “Following the success of the Sofitel at Terminal 5, this exciting scheme presents the second opportunity for us to work together with Heathrow to bring another best in class facility to Heathrow, this time in partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group.”
