n Connect introduces quicker reservation system
Connect car rental has invested £30,000 in a new reservation system called Inter-Connect. The independent car rental company network says total bookings are now expected to reach £10m by the end of 1999 and its current system could not cope. The debut of the Windows-based system is expected to speed-up booking times for car hire.
n CAA WEB SITE adds consumer information
The Civil Aviation Authority has introduced dedicated pages on its Internet site to back up its Consumer Protection Group which it created earlier this year. The site nowcontains information on airline licensing and the Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing system, including ATOL application.
n avis speeds up bookings with sabre signing
Avis has followed Budget in signing up to Sabre’s direct connect availability. The technology speeds up bookings, allowing booking a car abroad to be confirmed immediately.
n Campus gets technical help with sunrise
Student travel specialist Campus has signed up with Sunrise Software to use its helpdesk solution, Professional. The software will help Campus provide speedier technical assistance to over 300 consultants in 50 UK branches.
