A-Rosa is looking to run more fam trips next year to help drive international business.
Before the line began promoting itself internationally two years ago, bookings came only from German-speaking markets. Now, business from non-German-speaking markets accounts for 20% of bookings, most of it from the UK.
Lucia Rowe, head of UK and Ireland sales, said the operator now “took the UK market very seriously”, and was eager to educate more agents on A-Rosa.
“We are looking to do more fam trips because I believe seeing the product is extremely important to the sales process,” she added.
“We have seen quick growth internationally, and most of that is down to the UK.
“Through our relationship with Clia, we have boosted our awareness. The opportunity in the UK market is massive for us.
“Two years ago, we were virtually unknown outside of German-speaking markets, but we’ve put A-Rosa on the map.”
A-Rosa plans to recruit a UK sales team to support agents.
