Budget gets green light for city car club


Budget Rent a Car is to expand its City Car Club service to London after getting the go-ahead from Southwark Council to operate the scheme. The venture, which currently operates in Edinburgh, allows members to hire vehicles for as little as an hour. Users need only give 15mins’ notice to book a vehicle.


Tower of London coach park to close


The coach park at the Tower of London will close for up to 18 months from May 2 due to redevelopment work at Tower Place. During this time, 10 managed set-down and pick-up coaching bays will be created and three taxi bays will be added. These will all be on a Tower Hill site.


AA publishes UK and Ireland camping guide


The AA has launched its 2000 Caravan and Camping Britain and Ireland guide for members of the public. The guide gives details on over 1,000 campsites inspected by the association, including AA Campsite of the Year 2000 winners Ross Park in Newton Abbott, Devon; Far Grange Park in Skipsea, East Yorkshire; River Tilt Park in Blair Atholl, Perthshire and Daisy Bank Caravan Park in Church Stoke, mid-Wales.


Busabout flags up hop-on hop-off tickets


Busabout is offering ahop-on hop-off service starting at £8.50 per day that can be sold through agents. The bus passes come in a range of options. For example, the consecutive pass allows unlimited travel, while the flexipass has certain travel restrictions.


Eurolines/National Express dual brochure


National Express and Eurolines have launched a joint dedicated Dublin short-breaks brochure. The programme was unveiled last Monday at the Irish Club in London.
