Saga releases new app to meet customer needs

Saga Travel has created a new free app for its customers to use having asked them what are the most important aspects of their trip.

The new MySaga Holiday App sets out details of what is included in their holiday or cruise, weather and destination information, plus an excursion booking facility.

The over 50s specialist asked more than 9,000 travellers what they wanted most from holiday company app when creating it.

They said having access to their flight information (89%) was important, then ship information if on a cruise (83%), and a full summary of their holiday (82%) were the most essential features of such an app.     

More than two thirds were also keen to use the “pay may balance” feature and 17% wanted to count down the days to their holiday departure date.

Andrew Strong, chief executive of Saga’s Travel businesses, said: “Three-quarters (74%) of the over 50s have a smartphone or tablet these days and over one in eight (13%) of those are using a holiday company’s app, so we know how important it is for the savvy traveller to have up to the minute, easy access to their holiday or cruise details while they’re away.

“Our customers are now able to enhance their holiday whilst away by making changes and booking exciting excursions”.
