Travelbag has been named as a top 100 apprenticeship employer at the National Apprenticeship Awards in London.
The list is compiled by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices.
The company was also highly commended in the top new SME category at the awards, having stood out from more than 1,200 entrants.
Travelbag employs seven apprentices and has trained 16 since 2013.
The company recently developed a two-year training scheme with a longer-term progression for apprentices mapped out.
Managing director, Tony Carty, said: “We are immensely proud to have been recognised in this prestigious list, more so by the fact that we are the only travel company featured.
“We look forward to continuously striving to support travel industry experts of the future by nurturing them through our hugely popular apprentice scheme.”
Sue Husband, director of the National Apprenticeship Service, said: “The top 100 apprenticeship employer list 2015 demonstrates clearly the impact apprentices can have on an organisation.
“Travelbag has clearly made a difference to the lives of young people in the travel industry by investing in their future whilst the apprentices themselves have helped the company to develop their skilled, qualified workforce.
“Travelbag and other apprentice employers are creating opportunities for young people to gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, while working and earning.”
