Air China today confirmed a deal to acquire 12 Airbus A330-300 aircraft worth almost $3 billion.
The deal will allow the airline to increase capacity by 5.6% with deliveries due to take place between this year and 2018.
Air China said: “The company expects the new Airbus aircraft will deliver more cost-efficient performance and provide more comfortable services to its passengers.”
The airline said it had secured “significant price concessions” from Airbus on the new aircraft following negotiations with the European manufacturer.
