Former Virgin Holidays boss Wills joins Air Partner board

Amanda Wills, former boss of Virgin Holidays, is joining the board of global aviation services group Air Partner.

She has been named as a non-executive director of the company with immediate effect and becomes a member of its audit and risk and remuneration committees.

Wills was chief executive of Virgin Holidays from 2001 to 2014 and is currently a non-executive director of European online travel agency eDreams Odigeo and chairman of digital start-up Urbanologie.com catering for the high net worth and luxury sector.

She was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s 2015 New Year Honours list for services to the British travel industry and to charity.

Shaun Smith, group finance director of bathroom accessories supplier Norcros, also joins Gatwick-based Air Partner as an independent non-executive director from May 1.

The board changes come after senior independent director Andrew Wood announced he would be stepping down after five years.

Air Partner chairman Richard Everitt, said: “Amanda’s international experience and understanding of the travel industry and development of e-commerce will be highly beneficial to our business.

“Having served in a variety of executive director roles, Shaun brings a wealth of experience in finance, leadership and strategic planning.

“The changes are in line with our on-going programme to ensure that we have the optimum balance of skills, experience and knowledge on the board.”
