Crystal sees sales for UK programme soar

CRYSTAL’S Premier Britain programme has seen a 36% increase in sales since the company’s takeover by Thomson last year.

Programme director Simon Box said the additional business was being generated by sister company Lunn Poly which now accounted for around 5%of overall bookings. He refused to reveal actual figures.

The operator has worked on broadening its market appeal by adding more three-star properties and a spread of discounts and special offers by major hotel groups. A second edition of the programme, which is now in its second year, willbe launched in August featuring Christmas and New Yearpackages.

The operator will continue to build its hotel portfolio in London, which currently stands at 106 properties, and put greater emphasis on theatre breaks. Crystal has an on-line connection to Ticketmaster’s inventory, enabling it to check availability and print tickets.
