Canadian leisure carrier Air Transat is to run Toronto flights year round from Gatwick.

The airline will fly a daily service to Canada’s largest city between November and April as an extension of its summer schedule.

A second weekly flight will also be introduced on the Gatwick to Vancouver route from December, providing access to the ski resort of Whistler.

Passengers can also connect to the Rocky Mountains with a weekly flight to Calgary via Toronto.

The airline will continue weekly seasonal flights to Toronto from Glasgow and Manchester.

Gatwick-Toronto flights lead in at £339 return including free carriage of skis.
