A third super budget easyHotel is to open in the Amsterdam area next year.
Then 96-room property is under development by the company’s Benelux franchisee.
It will occupy the ninth to eleventh floors of a building in Zaandam, eleven minutes by train from Amsterdam Central Station and Schiphol airport.
Construction is expected to start shortly and the hotel is due to open in early 2017.
The chain’s second franchise property in Amsterdam was announced in February, with the group’s Benelux franchisee purchasing a property on Arena Boulevard to convert into a 131-room hotel, which is due to open by the end of 2016.
The franchisee is also due to open easyHotel Brussels ahead of schedule in October. The 107-room property will be the company’s first in Belgium.
The easyHotel development pipeline now consists of 1,810 rooms under development, 576 of which are owned and 1,234 being developed by franchise partners.
Chief executive Guy Parsons said: “We are pleased to be further extending our presence in Amsterdam which is an extremely attractive market for us, with considerable demand for affordable tourist accommodation.
“This development together with the agreements we have recently signed for Istanbul, Lisbon and Bernkastel-Kues (Germany) will further increase our presence and awareness of the brand without direct capital investment across Europe.”
Lucas Drewes, chief executive of Benelux franchisee Danzep Hotels added: ”We are thrilled by these great developments in the Brussels and Amsterdam regions and look forward to working with easyHotel in the future to increase the number of hotels throughout the Benelux.”
