n seatrade focuses on agent training days



A one-day agent training seminar is being held during the three-day Seatrade Cruise and Ferry Convention at the Bella Center in Copenhagen fromSeptember 15-17. The six 1hr sessions will covermarketing, technology,selling skills, product and cruise destination training. Cost for the conference, which also includessessions on the state of the cruise industry, is £200 plus VAT.



n Virgin sets date for debut of new livery



Virgin Atlantic has set June 7 as the date for unveiling its new livery (Travel Weekly May 10). Thecarrier will keep the red and white Virgin brand on tailfins, but has promised greater use of colour to highlight its name. Virgin has also pledged to use the Union Flag prominently.



n Suncars chauffeurs new airport service



Car rental-broker Suncars is offering a pre-bookableairport chauffeur-driveservice in its new brochure. Clients can also opt to be driven around in resort. Prices are quoted on atailor-made basis.



n Ireland and US behind BAA growth



BAA’s seven UK airports handled 9.2m passengers last month, a 3.6% rise on April 1998. Most popular routes were to Ireland and north America. The biggest growth was at Stansted, which handled 647,500 customers.



n ERA to begin spanish thrice-weekly service



Spanish start-up carrier European Regions Airlines launches thrice-weekly Gatwick-La Coruna next Monday. ERA’s fares lead-in at £188 return.



n Ryanair offers cut-price ticket to venice



Ryanair has cut the cost of flights from Stansted to Venice to £19.99 one-way for bookings made by May 21 for travel until June 17.
