Princess Cruises appoints first-time cruiser as business manager

A first-time cruiser who appeared in a promotional video for Princess Cruises has been landed a job with the line.

Jo McGawley has been taken on as regional business manager for the north.

She and her husband featured in Princess Cruises’ ‘come back new’ video which formed the company’s marketing campaign during the Wave peak booking period earlier this year.

The couple were first-time cruisers and the video followed them as they sailed around the Mediterranean.

McGawley starts with the line on Monday (September 12), having previously run a property company with her husband, Richard.

Her new role will include visiting travel agents across the north as well as creating events for the trade.

She reports to sales manager regional business & academy team, Sarah Jane Walker.

McGawley said: “After featuring in the marketing campaign my husband and I came back from our trip having fallen completely in love with cruising. But more than that, I had fallen in love with the Princess brand.

“When I saw an opportunity to become more than just a Princess ambassador I jumped at the chance to join the team. I can’t wait to share my love of the brand with agents.”

Walker said: “We are thrilled to have Jo join our sales team; as she was involved in Princess’ marketing campaign last year she already has a great understanding of the brand.

“Jo has experienced what it is like to be a first-time cruiser with Princess and so she will be able to share the emotive experiences she had on her cruise with agents, which will mean they are perfectly placed to assist customers who haven’t cruised before.”
