Orient-Express Hotels has acquired the 48-room Keswick Hall at Monticello, near Charlottesville, Virginia, and the 42-room The Inn at Perry Cabin in St Michaels, Maryland, for £16m. The hotels were owned by Sir Bernard Ashley, co-founder of the Laura Ashley retail group.

Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza has linked up with VisaInternational to launch an Impressions of Asia campaign offering a second, third or fourth night free at 90 properties in 15 Asian countries to clients paying with a Visa credit card. The offers run until October 31.
n Le meridien wins contract for marbella hotel
Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts is taking over themanagement contract of the Hotel Los Monteros in Marbella, Spain, from July 1. The hotel is now closed for a $10mrefurbishment and will reopen as the 170-room Le Meridien Los Monteros. Facilities will include two swimming pools, a health and fitness centre and conference space.
