Former Holiday Extras insurance ambassador Andrea Clayton-Norris is to join Affordable Car Hire.
Clayton-Norris has been appointed business development director for the company’s new division, AffordableXtras.
She spent 21 years at Holiday Extras, where she had a number of roles, including head of partnerships looking after its accounts with Thomas Cook and Tui.
Clayton-Norris spent the last year at travel insurance firm Citybond Suretravel.
She starts her new role at on November 1.
“I am truly delighted to be joining such a dynamic, successful company at this exciting time,” Clayton-Norris said.
“I am keen to use my experience of wholesale distribution and product development to ensure we deliver a really unique range of products to enhance the travel experience for clients, while at the same time ensuring agents – our key partners – get top rates of commission.
“I can’t wait to meet up with travel friends, old and new, over the coming months to discuss what AffordableXtras can do for their customers and their business.”
Clayton-Norris will report into Affordable chief executive Angela Day and chairman James Moore.
Day said: “Andrea has all the credentials to be Business Development Director for our new AffordableXtras division and is the perfect person for the job.
Not only is she an expert in travel insurance, but she knows everything there is to know about all the other ancillary products as well. She is already really well-known, very popular and incredibly well respected among the trade.”
Following the launch of AffordableXtras, Affordable Car Hire is to be headed up by sales director Jo Spacey.
