Ireland’s largest hotel chain is expanding into Wales with the £24 million purchase of a four-star property in Cardiff.
Dalata Hotel Group revealed this morning that it had acquired the freehold of the Clayton Hotel Cardiff.
The 216-room hotel in the centre of the city is close to Cardiff central train station and the Principality Stadium.
Delata deputy chief executive of business development and finance Dermot Crowley said: “Clayton Hotel Cardiff has performed very strongly this year.
“We are delighted to be able to purchase the freehold interest of the hotel. This transaction is consistent with our stated strategy of buying out the freehold interests of those leased properties with future unpredictable rent reviews.”
