Ryanair passenger numbers up 16% year-on-year

Ryanair maintained its growth trajectory last month with traffic rising by 13% to 10.9 million passengers.

The October figure gave Europe’s largest budget carrier a rolling annual carryings total of 114.4 million, up by 16% year-on-year.

The airline’s load factor was up by a single percentage point to 95% last month over October 2015.

Chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs attributed the performance to lower fares and the “continuing success” of the carrier’s ‘Always Getting Better’ passenger experience improvements.

“Customers can look forward to even lower fares when they make advance bookings for summer 2017,” he added.
