Florida’s Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa has opened its new $7.1 million waterpark.
Exclusive to hotel guests, it includes three, three-story waterslides with two speed slides and one inner-tube slide together totalling 900 feet as well as a 1,095-foot heated lazy river.
It adds an extra acre to the hotel’s existing two-acre pool area which includes a 2,700-square-foot waterfall pool, a 5,000-square-foot heated ‘adventure pool’ with a 140-foot corkscrew slide and lagoon-style pool.
“The addition of this exhilarating water experience allows us to deliver a unique destination for both families and groups that leverages our year-round tropical climate,” said Brian Kramer, general manager of the resort. “We knew that visitors already enjoyed our engaging pool area, so we wanted to expand on that idea and take it to the next level to create a one-of-a-kind experience on the west coast of Florida.”
The waterpark will serve as a recreation area and will have a food truck serving a seasonal menu of cuisines, and the newly-renovated Corkscrew Pool Bar. The resort also spent $4.1 million to renovate its meeting rooms and ballrooms which debuted earlier this year.
